STATEMENT

本展は、異なる制作背景を持つ二人の作家によるコラボレーションとして構成される。本展におけるコラボレーションは、共同制作によって一つの作品を生み出すものではなく、互いの作品を起点に、それを「記述する」行為そのものを作品化する点に特徴がある。
ここでいう記述とは、言葉による解釈や批評ではなく、作品を別のメディアや言語へと翻訳し直す制作的実践である。すなわち、相互参照（mutual referencing）を基盤としながら、他者の作品をもう一方が作品として「書く／翻訳する」ことで成立する関係性である。
本展は、このような「記述としての作品（writing as making / artwork as description）」という方法論を通して、コラボレーションの新たな形式を提示することを試みる。それは、制作と解釈、作者と他者の境界が揺らぐ場において、同時代的な相互作用としての制作のあり方を問い直す実践である。

This exhibition is structured as a collaboration between two artists with different backgrounds and approaches. Rather than producing a single work together, the collaboration is defined by the act of “describing” each other’s works as a form of artistic practice.
Here, “description” does not refer to verbal interpretation or critique, but to a process of translating a work into another medium or language. Based on mutual referencing, each artist engages with the other’s work by “writing” or translating it into their own form of expression.
Through this method—“writing as making” or “artwork as description”—the exhibition proposes an alternative model of collaboration. In this process, the boundaries between making and interpreting, and between self and other, begin to shift, opening up a space to reconsider artistic practice as a form of contemporaneous interaction.
