While studying in Israel, I encountered a Palestinian woman in Old city of Jerusalem selling chamomile tea leaves—known for their calming effects—to tourists. Her act of sustaining daily life amid injustice felt like both resistance and prayer. Directed toward me as a passing customer, it made me aware that I, too, was part of shaping that situation. This work consists of chamomile inserted between sheets of washi paper made by crushing a UNIQLO shirt that I was wearing at the time.
