STATEMENT

2015年のプロジェクト『突然、目の前がひらけて』において、区画壁を隔てて隣り合う武蔵野美術大学と朝鮮大学校の二つのギャラリーを接続するために制作された橋の端材を用いたテーブルを制作した。このテーブルは、作品制作の過程で生じた残材を再構成したオブジェクトである。

鑑賞者がこのテーブルに極めて近づき、耳をその表面に接触させるようにすると、内部から微かな音声が聞こえる。

この音声は、本プロジェクトに参加したコレクティブ「とつめ」のメンバー間で交わされた対話の録音を編集したものであり、和やかな場面と緊張感のある場面の双方を含む、感情の振れ幅を伴ったやり取りで構成されている。

音声は意図的に明瞭さを欠いた状態に編集されており、通常の距離からは内容を判別することはできない。鑑賞者が身体的に距離を詰め、注意深く聴こうとすることで初めて断片的に知覚される構造となっている。

In the project “Suddenly, the view spreads out before us” (2015), a table was produced using offcuts generated during the construction of a bridge connecting two adjacent galleries at Musashino Art University and Korea University, separated by a partition wall. This table is an object reconstructed from residual materials produced in the process of making the work.

When a viewer comes extremely close to the table and places their ear against its surface, a faint sound can be heard from within.

This sound is composed of edited recordings of conversations between members of the collective “Totsume,” which participated in the project, and consists of exchanges that range between calm and tense moments, forming a spectrum of emotional fluctuation.

The audio is deliberately edited to lack clarity, making its content indecipherable from a normal viewing distance. Only through physical proximity and attentive listening does it become perceptible in fragmented form.
